OSWA has the technical resources you need, whether you are designing, building or planning to build a wood structure in Ontario.

The membership of OSWA is a vast collective of knowledge and an invaluable technical resource to the structural wood building industry in Ontario. OSWA members represent a wide variety of stakeholder specializing in structural wood, each capable of offering technical expertise for the products they offer.

As an example, truss fabricators are happy to assist in developing unique structural wood solutions for both residential and commercial projects. They can provide complete three dimensional models of your structure, including both the wood truss components as well as the engineered wood components such as I-joists and laminated veneer lumber beams. They can provide the documentation your building designer needs to help obtain your building permit or can provide assistance to the project engineer who is looking to use wood as the main structural component in their building.

Through our OSWA manufacturing members, we have unparalleled expertise in all areas of wood design including wood connections, current code requirements, new and innovative structural wood products, unique construction techniques and have affiliations with a variety of industry associations and groups including: the Ontario Building Code, Canada Standards Association, Truss Plate Institute of Canada and WoodWorks! (Program of the Canadian Wood Council), that ensure we are at the forefront of design and construction in Ontario.

Our associate members include design and engineering firms who are often wholly dedicated to the design and use of structural wood products in Ontario buildings. Our OSWA associate members have an up to date knowledge of both the structural design through our engineering members and an intimate understanding of the aesthetic and environmental benefits of using wood in construction through our design and architectural membership.
